How to CRUSH 2026 - Part 2

Shape Your Environment + Leverage Community

If Part 1 was about the internal shifts you need to make, Part 2 is about the external forces shaping your behavior every single day.

And here’s something most people never realize:

You are perfectly set up to get the results you’re currently getting.

Change the setup, change the outcomes.

Let’s keep going.

KEY 3 — Guard Your Environment Like It’s Your Destiny

Harvard and Duke research has revealed something staggering:

Over 40% of your daily actions are automatic habits driven by your environment.

Translation: Your environment is discipling you — whether you chose it or not.

Want to read more? Put the book on your pillow.

Want to eat healthier? Don’t buy junk food. (Willpower is no match for Oreos.)

Want to work out more? Lay out your gym clothes the night before.

You don’t need more discipline — you need smarter environments.

I call it Identity-Based Design:

“Make the desired behavior obvious, easy, and automatic.”

If your environment aligns with your future identity, 2026 becomes dramatically more achievable.

KEY 4 — Leverage the Power of Community & Accountability

It’s been said before, “Show me your friends, and I’ll show you your future.” How about this, research from the American Society of Training & Development found that you are:

  • 65% more likely to accomplish a goal when you share it with someone

  • 95% more likely to accomplish a goal when you have weekly check-ins

Read that again: 95% more likely!

We massively overestimate what we can do alone, and massively underestimate what we can do together. This is why I train with my guys, and this is why I got into Executive Coaching back in 2020. In 2018, I hired a coach for myself, and I’ve never been the same since. Love you, KB!

There’s a reason the missional communities, elite athletes, AA groups, high-performing teams and coaching cohorts like I lead all rely on accountability:

BECAUSE IT WORKS!

Here are simple ways to activate community in 2026:

  • Tell your top 1–3 goals to a friend, coach or tribe.

  • Do a weekly call or text check-in with your people.

  • Join a Missional Community, Mastermind or workout class at the gym.

  • Invite someone into your habit streaks and refuse to let them down.

In isolation, dreams die. In community, they thrive.

THE TAKEAWAY

If you want 2026 to be different, you can’t keep the same environment or the same level of accountability. Set up surroundings that support the future you, and surround yourself with people who won’t let you settle.

Part 3 is coming next week; until then, spend a few minutes now making some hard decisions about your environment and people you will and will not surround yourself with in 2026.

It’s grow time!
